In a promotional press conference with Collider, director Ben Affleck and writer Alex Convery talked about the makings of AIR. During the interview, the 50-year-old was asked about how he conveyed his passion for filmmaking in this film. The interviewer also asked him why he wanted to do so many things at a time, making things complicated.

In his response, the actor said it was quite easy for him because everyone supported him throughout this journey. He added that the cast and crew members were people he has known for years. Whether it is Matt Maher, Chris Messina, Matt Damon, or Jason Bateman, all of them have worked together for a long time. And he has immense respect and admiration for all these people who contributed to this film. But the most shocking revelation was Affleck’s insistence on making a movie with Messina.

“Chris can attest the number of times I’ve harassed him. He’s passed me by in a hotel lobby and I’ve been like, “Chris, I wanna do a movie with you!” Affleck explained to Collider. The California native revealed how the influence of Michael Jordan in the movie helped him convince Chris Tucker.
