Ahead of the release of The Witcher Season 3, Freya Allan sat down with Netflix Tudum to talk about this much-anticipated arc between Ciri and Yennefer. With the huge battle impending the young actress believes that her character needs to have faith in people protecting her. It includes Geralt and Yennefer both because they are her only family now.
Though this might be a tough call for the princess after the powerful mage almost sacrificed her to Voleth Meir. Still, the 21-year-old thinks Yen is not a bad person from the core and that she only made a bad choice once. “They have such similarities that I think Ciri can’t help but latch onto Yennefer… Also, through Yennefer teaching Ciri, they do begin to build that trust up,” she added.
So it is only a matter of time before they both get along well. Not to forget, Ciri needs her guidance more than ever as they get up for the Wild Hunt. As much as we have learned from the trailer for season 3, it is confirmed that Ciri is finally facing her fate. After sensing the true power of her Elder Blood, she will be hunted endlessly by the convoy of spectral riders on horseback. Thus, to protect her at all costs, Geralt played by Henry Cavill for the last time will go into hiding. For this, they both will need the support of Yennefer, who will take them to the safety of the protected magical academy of Aretuza.
For the unversed, the third season will be split into two parts, coming on June 29 and July 27.
