Can’t Get Over the Witcher? Check These Best Shows Like the Witcher
The Witcher has always been an acclaimed series. As season 2 of the series really outdid the first one, fans expect further seasons to continue to do so. However, the series is in its initial seasons, and more importantly, there can only be a limited number of episodes and seasons of the same. Hence, fans who cannot get enough of The Witcher should definitely check the following shows out.
Game of Thrones
What better way to create a list of recommendations than to begin with a classic everyone loves? Game of Thrones is one of the finest shows on television. The series is based on the book saga The Song of Ice and Fire by G R R Martin. While the extreme detailing in the books makes for a frenzied reading experience, it helped the show a lot.

Game of Thrones features the tiniest of details while telling the story of a world practically devoid of any goodness. The storyline of the show is one of the finest we’ve seen in years and if you are one of the people who haven’t seen Game of Thrones yet, this is your sign to watch the classic.
Vikings and Vikings: Valhalla
Another show that shares the fantasy of The Witcher is Vikings and its spinoff series Vikings: Valhalla. The 6 season series is less mythical as compared to shows like The Witcher or Game of Thrones, but that doesn’t make it any less interesting. Vikings relies on historical accuracy and strategy to charm its viewers and does so magnificently.
A Discovery of Witches
The Witcher focused greatly on the theme of witches and mages. While most of them were warriors, some were academics as well; just like Istredd from the Netflix Original, A Discovery of Witches focuses on an academic who stumbles upon the world of magic and learns of her powers.
Just like The Witcher and most other fantasy shows, this series is based on a book saga- the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkess.
Cursed
Although 13 Reasons Why didn’t appeal to everyone and understandably so, actress Katherine Langford, who plays the role of the protagonist, left quite a mark.
Despite the low critical acclaim the last seasons of the series saw, the actress received praise for her portrayal of Hannah Baker. Fans who can’t wait to see the actress in another series need to check out Cursed on Netflix.
Cursed retells the story of the classic Arthurian legend in a modern setting. Nimue joins a young man named Arthur on a quest to, you guessed it, save humanity.

The Shannara Chronicles
The primary setting of The Witcher was a world where humans, elves, and other species must learn to live in harmony and there frankly aren’t many shows like it.

The Shannara Chronicles is one series on Netflix that focuses on the same theme. It recounts the tale of an Elven princess, a human, and a half-elf as they embark on a journey to stop a monster. Deja vu? You’re not alone.
