Those wondering whether Scooby-Doo’s Mystery Machine is parked at the Netflix headquarters can take a breath of relief, at least partly. Netflix subscribers can stream the animated Scooby-Doo film, Scoobs! (2020) on the streaming giant. However, the live-action movies Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Mystery Unleashed departed the streamer last month. However, Scooby-Doo!: Mystery Incorporated (2010), the animated series is also available on the streaming sensation.

Scooby-Doo is the first installment of the live-action film series based on the long-running animated franchise. Raja Gosnell directed the Mosaic Media Group production with a screenplay by James Gun. Monsters Unleashed serves as the sequel to the 2002 film. Scoobs! is Warner Animation Group’s animated mystery comedy film—a reboot of the theatrical Scooby-Doo film series. It is also the third theatrical project after Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2.

Though Netflix subscribers had their fair share of heartbreaks years ago when the only available Scooby-Doo movie was Scoobs!, fans are again back to square one this year. However, things are about to get more interesting since the streamer is developing a Scooby-Doo project.

All about the forthcoming Scooby-Doo project on Netflix

According to a Variety report last year, a live-action Scooby-Doo series was in the works on Netflix. The one-hour drama was said to be nearing a contract with a script-to-series commitment back in the day. However, the plot details were kept tightly under the lids except that it will be based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon. Warner Bros. Television is producing with Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg as writers.

Appelbaum and Rosenberg also serve as executive producers alongside Andre Nemec and Jeff Pinkner under their Midnight Radio production banner. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman will be executive producers with Berlanti Productions while Jonathan Gabay of Berlanti Productions and Adrienne Erickson serve as co-executive producers. Though updates have been scarce on it since the announcement, only the future will tell what awaits the mystery machine of Netflix.
