“Can you leave my husband a voicemail?”- When Blake Lively Gave Deets About Her Dinner With President Obama

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are the IT couple in Hollywood, and there is no doubt about that. Through countless beautiful red carpet appearances, adorable social media PDA, and one too many jokes about each other on talk shows, the couple has redefined what it means to be ‘couple goals.’ From Ryan Reynolds joking about how he thought Blake was ‘just pounding beer’ when she was six months pregnant to Blake posting a photo of Ryan Gosling on Reynolds’ birthday, the couple has made the internet laugh plenty of times. Being funny online is one thing, but being funny in front of the POTUS is a totally different feat. And Blake Lively has achieved it.

What world-changing issue did Blake Lively discuss with Barack Obama?

Blake Lively shot to unfathomable fame after starring as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girls on Netflix. Moreover, she was the go-to girl for any romantic comedy film. Given her successful ride in the acting industry, it is not surprising that Lively gets invited to dinners with Anna Wintour and Karl Lagerfeld.

While she did have the urge to go all Jack Dawson in Titanic on them, the Gossip Girl actress handled it pretty well. Speaking of having dinner with important people, Blake Lively was once invited to have dinner with Barack Obama.

The Gossip Girl actress stayed true to her last name and brought life to an otherwise monochrome dinner. Obama is also called President cool because of his charming popularity. And he had the biggest celebrities as his fan club members. So when her turn to make small talk with the President came, Blake, in all good humor, completely lost it.

Her pre-planned speech about what she was going to say was long forgotten. And instead, she said, “You left my husband a voicemail. He deleted it because you were just a senator back then.” In a room full of important people chatting with the President, Blake Lively had still stood out. She asked the then-President of the United States to drop her husband another voicemail.

Can you leave my husband a voicemail?” asked Blake, and the former POTUS complied. This resulted in an iconic photo of Blake nonchalantly looking at her phone as Obama tries to talk to her. Lively said on Late Night with Seth Meyers that she will show it to her kids.
