The comedy-drama premiered on May 20th, 2023, at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. After it made a compelling case for Melton’s ticket to Oscar’s best-supporting role, the Golden Globe Awards glanced eyes to crown its creativity with several nominations. The first is its recognition for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy.

A-listers of the flick also stood tall in the recommendation category. Julianna Moore made it to the credits of Best Performance by an Actress in Supporting Role, Motion Picture while Natalie Portman etched her name for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama or Comedy. Now, with countless eyes on the prize, it is time to wait and watch who takes the award home in which category. With that, up next on the list is also a genius in every way, and this one is sure to take your breath away.

Maestro

The receiver of selected theatrical releases, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, became the talk of the town with its streaming availability on Netflix. The complex romance-musical flick charted a staggering figure of over $450,000 at the box office despite its choosy reveal. Having been nominated for several titles in the past year, the movie has maintained its streak righteously for the Golden Globe Awards as well.

Giving a cut-throat competition to May December’s selections, Maestro also bagged four nominations. First, its name emerged in the list of Best Motion Picture in Drama, and the creator also received recognition for Best Director for Motion Picture category. Cooper marked the nomination chart twice with his name, the second one being for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.

The Crown

About 8 years back, Netflix embarked on the journey of recreating the royal household’s narrative to bring it on a plate for the audience with The Crown. December marked its last leg and to laud its legacy, Golden Globe Awards has pitched in for the series’ acclaim in many categories. Elevating the nitpicks of royal drama with a visual score, The Crown has been nominated for the category of Best Drama.

Furthermore, Imelda Staunton and Dominic West have been made it to the list for Best Performance by an Actress and Actor in Television Series, Drama, respectively. Soon to follow in the chain of achievements is another spectacle of the streaming giant.

Beef

Leveraging the in-roads of dark comedy, Beef, emerged as a strong contender in Netflix’s original releases. The must-watch series narrates a road rage incident to pacify a closer study of emotions like anger. Its blurry edges of transcending conventional barriers staked its presence in the Golden Globe Awards nominations for 2024. It made its name for the selection of Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television alongside Shawn Levy’s source-accurate adaptation of All the Light We Cannot See.

Along with the aforementioned series and films, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, Ricky Gervais: Armageddon, and All the Lights We Cannot See have recurred in the list for nominations as well. Although the checklist is weighing heavy to back the streamer, it is now time to sit back and watch if Netflix can ultimately recreate the 2023 Golden Globe Awards’ success for 2024. Hence, to witness the same, do not forget to tune in to the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on January 8th, 5 P.M.
