Can King of Elves Filavandrel Return in ‘The Witcher’ Season 4?
The Witcher world is presently working out the magnanimous tenterhooks of season 3 to explain the Continent’s unfolding narratives in the next installment. Some updates have been quite disappointing, like Henry Cavill’s last bow, but following that, several additional lineups have kept The Witcher fans on their toes. Having said that, the next season will bring forth a lot of queries which might receive answers once Netflix opens the gate for the 4th volume. However, one question that may not need to wait for the clock’s tick for solutions is whether Filavandrel, played by Tom Canton, will return to season 4.
Despite meeting an end in the Thanedd Coup, probability says that there remains a chance of his return in season 4 in this surprising way.

The Witcher season 3 was quite successful in bringing its fans nearly on the cliff. With the brutal Thanedd Coup, followed by Geralt and Yennefer’s prolonged separation and Ciri’s farthest whereabouts, the season ended with a knife stuck in the throat. However, unfortunately, the coup also brought death notice for many mages and elves, including Filavandrel’s execution by Tissaia. Yet, his return for the next season sounds like a possibility due to the maker’s inclination to explore flashbacks.
Since Andrzej Sapkowski’s books clearly avenue three different timelines for its three pivotal players, Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer, the POV of flashback could explain Geralt’s recast. Simultaneously, it could bring the scenes from the previous installments featuring Filavandrel, keeping in mind the complex relationship between him and Geralt. As Tomek Baginski and Steve Gaub also have plans to tell the story from several POVs, Filavandrel’s recurrence could make space to situate a story to connect these time jumps.
While Filavandrel remains one of the past characters whose chances are high for a flashy flashback-like return, here are all the new faces The Witcher 4 will welcome.
Character update for The Witcher 4
The previous year, the executive producers of the show teased quite a lot about the show’s plan to transition from Cavill to Liam Hemsworth. This year, Redanian Intelligence reported exactly how the plan looks out for unveiling. A few weeks back, an audition tape of a young girl called Nimue and the bard, Stribog, came around to cue at the latest additions of the series shortly after introducing Regis’ character to be played by Laurence Fishburne.

With these three character lineups to follow, the makers might be exploring the teaser show of POVs in full throttle to pick up a storyline based on books in the far-off future. There, Nimue is a girl who is told of the legends of Geralt by Stribog, whose face of Geralt is of Henry Cavill. However, when Nimue goes to find the man from the legends, he finds the Geralt played by Hemsworth. Although it is yet to be made out how Filavandrel’s potential return could impact these characters, the makers will probably clear that air in season 4.
