‘Bridgerton’ Season 2: How The Sexual Tensions Between Anthony and Kate Offsets The Actual Sex Scenes of Season 1

Poetry is a naked woman, a naked man, and the tension between them. The lip-biting intimacy. The desire to touch each other badly, and the lingering gaze. Aren’t these the sexiest moments of one’s life? And ahh… such is the chemistry between Anthony and Kate in Bridgerton season 2.

In the second season, we see that Anthony Bridgerton is courting Edwina. But his heart and body belong to her elder sister, Kate Sharma. Although this isn’t revealed till the later part of the season as Kate was against her sister’s matchmaking. She knew Anthony’s intentions and didn’t want her sister to dream about love, while her man wasn’t even close to that thought.

So how does the intimacy between them actually build up in Bridgerton season 2?

Interestingly, both Anthony and Kate HATE each other in the initial parts of the season. There’s a lot of bickering between them and both swear to be absolute revolts (all while pining for each other). However, there are hidden sensations in their fights, and towards the mid of the season, a love-hate friendship is established.

And the constant gaze between the two would give you butterflies down your gut! But they couldn’t express their desire till the later part of the season because, well, they didn’t want to hurt Edwina. To fans’ disappointment, this has led to lesser sex scenes, which, according to Lady Whistletown would be the greatest sin of all.

But don’t you think these are the moments of real showdown? Sex and all is fine, but the brief moments of building passion and desire are the actual show-stealers. Wait, wait. We will clear all your doubts here.

The building tension between Kate and Anthony is sexier than all the sex scenes combined!!

Alright, alright. We may be exaggerating a bit here, but it is what it is! Although the three-minute-long sex and the very intense staircase cunnilingus of season one are traded for garden whispers and almost library kisses, the chemistry between Kate and Lord Anthony is so palpable that it offsets everything that was going on in season 1. Because it’s always the longing to feel each other that’s sexier than the actual sex, ALWAYS.

For instance, the scene where Anthony wraps Kate’s body with his to teach her about the gun shooting. That almost kiss when Anthony and Kate’s lips are inches apart. And finally, the best of all: the kiss in the church! Man, that would leave anyone breathless. So smooth, so passionate, and so satisfying to watch.

And then came the best of all! Remember how Kate stood right there when Anthony commanded her to go inside in episode 7, and how he lost it altogether? And finally, they had the most passionate night of their lives? Well, none of the other sex scenes in Bridgerton can beat what these two had.

To surmise, although season one of Bridgerton had a lot of sex scenes, but the build of passion, the lingering touches, the almost kisses, and the intense long gazes, and all the steaming Kanthony moments make Bridgerton season 2 a lot more sexier.
