The second season of Netflix’s Bridgerton is about to hit the platform on March 25th, 2022. And Netflix has graciously released more stills from season 2. The recent addition to our growing collection is an image of Jonathan Bailey, who plays the character of Anthony Bridgerton, and fans are going crazy over the picture. Some of us are even seeing Mr. Darcy from BBC’s Pride and Prejudice (1995) in him.

None of the regency drama is complete without the hero in a wet white shirt. In the new picture, Anthony Bridgerton is wearing a white shirt with black trousers, coming out from the water, all wet. Looking at his pictures reminds us of Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy from BBC’s 1995 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.

The creator of Bridgerton, Chris Van Dusen, shared the photos with a caption titillating poor fans.

From Julia Quinn’s second novel of Bridgerton, we can presume the plot of this situation. Kate and Anthony go on a walk with the corgi dog, Newton. By seeing Edwina, Kate’s sister, the dog jumps over with excitement and pushes her towards the lake. As a male hero, Anthony jumps into the lake to save Kate’s sister, Edwina. And turns out Bailey has been diligent about getting back into his role as Anthony.

In a conversation with The Sun, Bailey explains, “Stepping into the shoes Phoebe and Regé-Jean wore and led with so gracefully last season, has taught me a lot. This season has kept me on my toes. I got really fit. I made sure to eat well and get loads of sleep, and everything else just seemed to fall into place.” 

We can expect more chaos, scandal, romance, and drama in season 2 of Bridgerton. And some of the chaos will be created by Penelope aka Lady Whistledown.

Anthony is searching for a wife in season 2. So, let’s wait and see which Sharma sister is going to be Mrs. Bridgerton. Book readers must already know…but the pleasure is in the anticipation. Isn’t it?
