Meghan Markle is no newcomer to the glare of cameras. The fact that her engagement with Prince Harry made an impact as huge as it did goes hand in hand with the fact that she was a popular actress. Therefore, she did not appear in front of the cameras when she became a royal through Prince Harry. She was comfortable enough in front of the cameras to openly express her love to Prince Harry in public, which is a rare occurrence in the Royal family if not prompted.

While performing arts may have been a huge help to Meghan Markle as she crossed the bridge from a civilian to a royal, she no longer performed. At least as a profession. The duchess chose to stop acting and worked for greater causes as a royal member as soon as she got engaged. But according to body language expert, Louise Mahler, the Duchess of Sussex is still performing.

Meghan Markle is “confident as a performer”
If stepping into the Royal family was a major event, then exiting the royal family was an entire ordeal in itself. During her time as a senior working royal, Markle gave many empowering speeches. She was applauded for the ease with which she presented herself on stage. This applause often led to comparisons between her and Kate Middleton. However, Louise Mahler did not compare Markle with anyone else but herself, a natural step in the right direction when studying a person’s behavior.
The body language expert spoke about Markle becoming a ‘changed’ person right after her engagement with Prince Harry. Mahler reviewed two instances where the Duchess of Sussex spoke in public.
Firstly, she studied Markle’s body language as she spoke at the Invictus Games in 2022. “When she’s on stage, she’s so confident as a performer, turning as she speaks,” Louise pointed out per Express.

However, when Prince Harry walks up to her and kisses her, she isn’t her natural easy-going self on stage. “Instead, she put her hands flat on his chest and stood bolt upright,” noted Mahler.
“He then kissed her, and she pushed him away and then moved,” the body language expert observed. However, if Markle is a natural on stage and only stiffens up at public displays of affection, then massive media scrutiny might have had a role to play.
