‘Blood Sisters’ on Netflix: Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Biyi Bandele’s Latest

Production has finally wrapped up, and the new thriller film, Blood Sisters, will finally join Netflix. Blood Sisters is a Nigerian film, starring Ini Dima-Okojie and Nancy Isime, playing the lead roles of Sarah and Kemi. Biyi Bandele and Kenneth Gyang directed the film, which explores themes like family, drugs, love, relationship, and most importantly, friendship. The beautiful Lagos, Nigeria, remained the shooting location of the film, which pays a tribute to the city and also gave the viewers an idea about the different socioeconomic gaps in Africa’s most famous commercial and social metropolis.

Biyi Bandele, the creator of the film shared on Instagram, “I’ve spent the past several months directing this stupendously exhilarating film, Blood Sisters, a Netflix Original set in Lagos, and we shot it in Lagos, featuring a stellar cast of truly brilliant Nigerian actors.”

Ebony Life Studios and Netflix together revealed the release date of the upcoming crime-thriller, Blood Sisters. The film will hit the streaming giant on May 5th, 2022.

What is Blood Sisters plot?

The plot highlights a crime-thriller, which develops around the life of two best-friends, Sarah and Kemi. Sarah is engaged, and about to get married to a man, Kola. However, this seemingly idyllic union has a dark side. Kola emotionally, verbally, and physically abuses Sarah daily. Kemi tries to convince her friend to break off the engagement. However, for her family, Sarah tries to stick to the wedding. On the engagement day, Kemi accidentally kills Kola while trying to defend herself. Both the friends try to cover up the dead body, setting off several catastrophic series of events in their family.
