Speaking to GamesRadar, Charlie Brooker recently addressed this infamous moniker that overshadowed the real lesson. He stated that people have made this show a synonym for “tech is bad”. And he “found that a bit frustrating partly” because he always thought the show isn’t about the impact of technology but how people are totally messed up.
Even the title of the show is itself a reflection of people’s actions that they do things and blame it on technology. He clarified that the show is much broader and more complex than people see it. It includes themes of existential and identity crises that people deal with in the modern world. So they picked a different arc this time to present things to the audience from a new lens.
Season 6 has opened gates for the fans so they can understand things with an open mind instead of sticking to the tech part.
The new season approaches viewers with a new perspective

In the same interview, Brooke opened up about the unique episodes of season 6. He said that it was quite a challenge but interesting to reset things for a bit. The new season features horror, comedy, and even an episode that does not include the usage of technology at all. “It was a palate cleanser, and it means that you’re then approaching all the other episodes from a slightly different perspective,” he said.
For instance, Demon 79 focuses on Nida, a young shoe shop clerk who unknowingly let out a demon trapped inside an ancient talisman. Upon his freedom, the demon asks her to murder three people before midnight or face the apocalypse that would destroy the world. This is how all the episodes of season 6 give some morality lessons to fans without wrestling with technology much.
