‘Bitten’ on Netflix? Is the 2014 Sci-Fi Drama Worth Watching? Where Can You Stream It?
Whenever a beloved literary work is brought to the small screen, it tends to raise a lot of eyebrows among fans. Bitten, adapted from Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld book series, experienced a similar wave of concern when it was first announced. Fans were particularly anxious about how the show would tackle the violence and unavoidable nudity that are practically the key elements of the story. Fast forward a decade since the show’s premiere, and those worries are still relevant.
Bitten is still making its rounds in the streaming world, and one can access the series and figure out if it is a worthwhile TV adaptation.

Bitten debuted in the wake of popular paranormal shows like Teen Wolf, True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries. Following the lead of these fantasy shows, the series made its way to Netflix in the United States in September 2014. However, four years after the final season was released, the series departed from the streaming giant in 2020. And it has not returned to the platform to this day.
Fans can, nonetheless, still stream it through other platforms, including Amazon Prime Video. For Canadians, the Canadian TV series has made a return to Netflix Canada this month, with all three seasons available. Created by Daegan Fryklind and starring Laura Vandervoort as Elena Michaels, Bitten has drawn comparisons to many popular franchises, like Supernatural and Twilight, and hence, its departure from Netflix did upset some fans. However, Bitten is not the only fantasy series Netflix has let go of randomly over the years.
The streaming giant has gained quite a reputation for pulling the plug on promising shows too early- mostly after a season or two.

Over the years, Netflix has disappointed countless fans by canceling shows that did not reach the heights of, say, Stranger Things. No matter how dedicated the fanbase, Netflix would cancel the show if it did not bring in enough viewers to justify the expense. From Warrior Nun and The Midnight Club to the recently canceled KAOS, the list of cut-off series only keeps growing.
Though 2024 has seen relatively fewer cancellations from the streaming platform, Netflix has not escaped fans' frustration over the lack of closure these shows deserved. Still, there is always a glimmer of hope that Bitten might make a comeback on Netflix one day, as the platform has occasionally brought other shows back into its lineup.
