The Royal family receives customized outfits from some of the greatest designers in the world, and the Duchesses definitely do them justice. However, this one designer may have been the cause of the rift between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

A lot of progress has been made in obtaining details about the feud between the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales. Most famously, the bridesmaid dress incident, which Markle recalled in her Oprah interview. “A few days before the wedding, she was upset about something pertaining to … flower girl dresses. And it made me cry,” she said. However, the seeds for this rift between the two women had been sown long before in  2017.

According to She Knows, a design by Erdem Moralioglu which was in demand by both Markle and Middleton was handed to Kate Middleton, according to the laws of hierarchy in the Royal family. Considering Kate Middleton is next on the throne after Queen Consort Camilla, the Palace gave her more priority. This upset Markle, who had long been a fan of the designer.

Kate Middleton, ever since her marriage to Prince William in 2011, has proved to be the most influential silhouette for Moralioglu’s evening dress line. While she was spotted in designer couture only after stepping into the Royal family, Markle has worn the designer ever since her Suits days. The Canadian born designer is even rumored to have made the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding dress.

The Duchess of Sussex even chose the designer during her Commonwealth game appearance when she was pregnant with her first child. It is unclear who may be the biggest fan of the designer, considering how both women cannot have enough of his designs. What’s true is that Erdem Moralioglu’s biggest fan lies between the two of them.
