After already racking up awards and keeping stars glued to their platform, Netflix is going even harder this season with absolutely no room for slip-ups. To keep the streak alive and break a few more records along the way, they have called on Affleck and Damon’s star wattage to hook subscribers on a gritty new crime thriller.

As dished out in Production Weekly's issue 1422, Netflix has snagged best buds and the dynamic duo, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, for their next crime thriller, RIP. While the deets are still hush-hush, word is that filming kicked off on October 2, 2024, with the powerhouse pair leading the charge. Filming is expected to wrap up by December 11, 2024.

As of now, the only confirmed stars are Affleck and Damon, making this their 11th epic collaboration. Some of their previous tag-team hits include Field of Dreams (1989), School Ties (1992), Good Will Hunting (1997), Chasing Amy (1997), Dogma (1999), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019), The Last Duel (2021), and Air (2023). They have also got another Netflix project, Animals, simmering on the back burner for now.

RIP is an upcoming crime thriller co-written and directed by Joe Carnahan, with none other than Ben Affleck and Matt Damon leading the charge. Based on a screenplay by Michael McGrale and produced by Dani Bernfeld and Falco Pictures, the plot is sure to get hearts racing. According to Production Weekly’s issue 1422, the story kicks off with the murder of a captain who has been left unsolved for six weeks due to bureaucratic red tape.
