That The Witcher Season 3 will be unlike any other does not leave much room for argument. From the nearly two years gap since the previous season to carrying introducing The Rats and laying the foundation for the spinoff, it is quite hard to top. And while the massive attention is correlated to it being the final season featuring Henry Cavill, there is actually a crucial element in the upcoming season’s storyline that makes it a cut above the rest.

Netflix’s trending series shocked the world when it decided to let go of its superstar last year. And to top it off, they even replaced him in a span of months with Liam Hemsworth. The creators are trying to make the transition as swift as possible. However, Henry Cavill is not leaving without a fight. Not with The Witcher team, but with the most gruesome monster that it will bring in.

The Man of Steel actor has been dropping hints about a “real threat,” in The Witcher Season 3 for a while now. This was mostly understood as the entirety of the Continent running after Ciri. And while that is the case, according to Redanian Intelligence, Cavill’s Geralt will be fighting a truly horrifying monster “made from hundreds of corpses of women and girls melted together.”

This was further solidified by the Head of Franchise Design Andrew Laws, who talked about how complex its creation was. It is unclear what this gruesome monster is named or at what point he appears in the series. But he is not the only abomination that Cavill’s Geralt is facing.

The creators have said that everything until now had been building up to Season 3. And this, combined with Henry Cavill’s statements about Geralt facing real dangers, is a clear indicator of one thing. Henry Cavill is going to fight the toughest battles for Geralt. In the words of Gen Z, he will eat and leave no crumbs.

Not only does he have to face what is being described as the most gruesome monster, but with the entirety of the Continent after them, there are plenty of other sharks in the sea that he needs to fight. And if the recently announced episode synopsis’ is anything to go by, then he will be starting strong in the first episode itself while fighting against The Shaelmaar.
