Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries is one of the most anticipated projects. The show has been making headlines for all the right as well as wrong reasons even before the announcement of its release date or name. The docuseries will have a vital role in deciding the future of the Sussexes’ relationship with King Charles III and other members of the royal family.

A few days back, Meghan Markle hailed the director of their docuseries, Liz Garbus, and lavished praises on the Oscar-nominated director for doing a brilliant job with the story. Markle also defended the content, saying that it might not be the way they would have told their story. As per the Suits alum, their story is projected through the lens of Garbus. Meanwhile, it might surprise you that Garbus was not the first choice for directing the docuseries.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a fall-out with their first director

Before Liz Garbus, Oscar-nominated director Garrett Bradley was appointed by Netflix for the highly anticipated project. Bradley was a perfect choice to helm the project. She was the one who directed the critically acclaimed show, Naomi Osaka. It is believed that she was sidelined from the docuseries because of the difference in opinion with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle regarding the vision

Bradley was also not okay with the tone of the project. Moreover, she wanted the Sussexes to film the series at their home, something that Sussexes were not comfortable doing.

“Garrett wanted Harry and Meghan to film at home and they were not comfortable doing that. There were a few sticky moments between them, and Garrett left the project. Harry and Meghan’s own production company captured as much footage as they could before Liz Garbus was hired,” Sources said as quoted by Page Six.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently at odds with Netflix bosses because of the release date of the docuseries. The couple wants the show to release next year after the memoir. However, the American streaming platform is keen on running it next month.
