Here is the exciting news – Empire State movie is now on Netflix!
The Rock against Liam Hemsworth in one of America’s biggest heists
The movie, Empire State, is based on a real heist that happened in 1982, which was apparently one of the largest cash heists in the history of the United States of America. A thrilling drama starts with two childhood best friends, Chris Potamitis (Liam Hemsworth) and Eddie (Michael Angarano). They plan to rob an armored car depository, and the NYPD officer, Dwayne Johnson, as Detective James Ransome, gets in their way.
Chris fails to get into a police academy because of prior marijuana charges, but he finds a security guard job with the ‘Empire State’ armored truck company. He makes one of the biggest mistakes of his life by telling his friend Eddie about the poor security and low morale in the company. From this point, Chris’ life takes a turn.
Eddie convinces Christ to rob the company of cash, but someone has tipped detective James off. The police force catches them. Although Chris and Eddie are released from federal prison on October 10, 1991, but the police never recovered the money.
It is indeed never disappointing to watch Liam Hemsworth fighting the Rock in any movie. As played in many other films, the Rock indeed rocks in the movie, but Liam is also as good.
