‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Live-Action Casting Call Suggests a Previous Avatar Might Show Up in the Series. FIND OUT Who This Avatar Can Be
The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the reasons for the show’s popularity. It is filled with mystical creatures, people who can control the elements, and most importantly, the Avatars. Avatars are single soul that changes bodies during different lives. In the show, not all lives were given equal importance. However, a new update for Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action suggests the show will include a previous Avatar. For better or worse, let us find out.
Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action new update
In 2018, Netflix announced plans for a live-action Avatar series, giving fans optimism that there could be something to make up for the disappointment of M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender.

There were minimal updates for years. And after Avatar’s original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino left the project in 2020, Albert Kim took over as showrunner. The series began filming late last year after a number of new cast members were added.
According to a recent casting call for Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar Kuruk will be joining the cast. The recent casting call posted by Knight Edge Media is looking for someone to portray Dakota.
The live action crew is apparently seeking a man of Indigenous descent in his 30s or 40s. According to the article, the character is most likely Avatar Kuruk, the last of the Water Tribe Avatars to appear before Aang.
This is the third major update regarding the series after the episode runtime, budget, and set photos. As a result, fans are really excited to see the live-action adaptation. However, it will not premiere until early 2023.

Fans of the original series know that Kuruk does not play a major role in the series. In fact, he is seen only once when Ang is seeking advice from his previous self.
But, Yvonne Chapmanwill be playing Avatar Kyoshi in Netflix’s live-action series, which has already shown hints of focusing more on Aang’s ancestors.

Should this character be Kuruk, it does not appear that he will play a significant role in the new Avatar and that he will appear for two episodes. He might, however, play a key role in the season-ending conflict at the Northern Water Tribe, as hinted to by the casting breakdown’s reference to a forthcoming battle.
All of these are just assumptions at this point. So share your theories as to who might be the casting call out for.
