From being a neutral monster killer to finally choosing a side to save his Child Surprise, Geralt of Rivia has had an adventurous journey. In The Witcher season 3 Vol 1, Henry Cavill as Geralt embarks on a journey to bid adieu to the role. While Ciri is still trying to survive, Yennefer’s fate also changes. With a lot going on in the Continent, the Netflix Original is approaching the heroic send-off of the British actor.

The third season’s Vol 1 revealed so many grotesque details about many characters. Now, with the trailer of Vol 2, there is going to be more of it. The upcoming Volume of the show will reveal many mysteries. Characters like Vilgefortz, Yennefer, Fringilla, Emperor Emhyr, and all the others, will see significant turns of events. Geralt and Ciri will part ways while Yennefer will cross paths with the love of her life. Planning and plotting for power, mixed with betrayals and heartbreaks, the second Volume of season 3 will have it all. The Thanedd Coup and its consequences

Episode 6 of The Witcher season 3 is going to explore more about the great war between Nilfgaard-supporting mages led by Vilgefortz and Northern Kingdoms loyalists led by Philippa. As a result of this war, the school of Aretuza is utterly demolished. Of course, the mages die, while those who survived are severely injured, eradicated, and lose their homes. The Brotherhood of Mages is out-of-order while Nilfgaard is approaching to conquer the Northern Kingdoms. The mages choose Yennefer of Vengerberg as their leader.

As Tissaia loses her touch because of the betrayal by her lover, Vilgefortz, and sees mages die in front of her, she is emotionally and mentally chaotic. Now, Yennefer will continue her political journey and would go to Vilgefortz’s stronghold of Vuilpanne. Do you remember Triss being worried about her girls going missing? This is the place where they find them, dead.

Yennefer will hold a funeral for the mages who passed away. While Tissaia does not attend the funeral, she parts ways with the mages after passing on a farewell letter to Yennefer. While Yennefer is taking up the responsibilities of leading the Lodge of Sorceresses, a “proto-Lodge”, Geralt is recovering from an intense fight with Vilgefortz. Triss ultimately decides that it would be best to take Geralt to the professionals: the dryad healers of Brokilon Forest.

Geralt healing while Ciri fighting alone

While Geralt is in recovery, Ciri faces challenges alone. Vilgefortz captures Ciri and presents her in front of Emperor Emhyr. To Vilgefortz’s surprise, he has captured the ‘Fake Ciri’. This leads him to hold Istredd as his captive. Because Istredd is a walking, breathing, monolith encyclopedia. Therefore, when Vilgefortz loses Ciri as she escapes him via a portal in Tor Lara, Vilgefortz decides to take help from the monolith expert.

Apart from Ciri’s musical talent, the upcoming season will see her dark side as well. While surviving her way throughout, Cirilla will also meet The Rats where she will make her first kill. On the one hand, Princess Cirilla of Cintra will join the Rats, and on the other hand, Geralt and Jaskier will begin their journey to find her.

Finally, Henry Cavill will receive the promised heroic send-off

As the showrunner has already promised fans to give their favorite star a heroic send-off, the trailer of the second volume has hinted at that. After saying goodbye to Yennefer after the Thanedd Coup, Jaskier meets Geralt, where they will learn about Ciri being captured. Here is when we will finally see Geralt leaving his neutral stance.

Moreover, after the Thanedd Coup, Yennefer and Geralt will also see each other before going after Ciri. Interestingly, Geralt will not share a screen with Ciri in this upcoming installment. A scene in The Witcher will feature Geralt, Jaskier, and Milva walking off into the sunset, signifying the end of Henry Cavill’s role in the series.

Apart from these major incidents, there will be a reunion of Fringilla and Francesca, the introduction of many new characters, Yennefer’s visit to Skellige to look for Ciri, and the exploration of Jaskier’s relationship with Radovid.
