As Promised Duffer Brothers Are Planning a New ‘Stranger Things’ Spinoff and They Are Venturing Into Anime This Time

It looks like Duffer Brothers have wrapped multiple surprises for fans this season. Viewers have spent months speculating about the new projects and possibilities of season 5. While the creators are finally revealing things to the Stranger Things fandom that they waited for so long. Most recently, they teased fans about the storyline that will reach the stage in the coming month. Not to mention, the creative team dropped a hint regarding the highly anticipated season of the horror drama. And now they are back with a bigger explosive that might just leave fans crazy.

During their appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Duffer Brothers had revealed their plans to make a new Stranger Things spinoff. The anime series will be set in the 1980s Tokyo and focuses on two video game-loving twin brothers whose lives change after they see Upside Down. While they also confirmed that this 6-hour-long show will be hugely different from the original show.

The duo further added this will be a “story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it really is more about how we’re telling that story.”

The American writers first hinted at the idea of a spin-off in 2022 before the release of the highly acclaimed fourth season. Why the Stranger Things franchise is venturing into spin-offs? 

First of all, fans have long urged Duffer Brothers and Netflix to not break their bond with this universe after the show ends with season 5. Also, everybody knows all the franchises that garner huge fandoms like Stranger Things start spanning their world through different storylines and angles.
