As Henry Cavill Packs His Bag, ‘The Witcher’ Cast Extends Olive Branch to Liam Hemsworth
There was no silence before the storm as The Witcher Season 3 made its way to Netflix. The buzz surrounding Henry Cavill‘s exit and his replacement with Liam Hemsworth nearly overshadowed the true essence of the fantasy series. The promotions warranted a bunch of wholesome moments between the favored Geralt, the cast, and the fans. However, this has not helped in shrinking the elephant in the room in any way possible.
As the creators and cast promoted The Witcher Season 3, fans watched with keen eyes what they had to say regarding Cavill’s exit. And anything less than giving full credit to the actor was unacceptable. But while the former Geralt packed his bag, the cast that stays on board finds themselves in a bit of a pickle.
To be or not to be, that is the question for the cast of Lauren Schmidt Hissrich’s series. Except in this context, they are dealing with the burning question of whether or not they are on par with Hemsworth’s casting as Geralt. Talking about whether they have connected with the new Geralt, especially as Season 4 will start filming soon, the cast had pretty interesting things to say.

Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra both seem to have made amends with Liam Hemsworth as their new Geralt. “I can’t wait to meet him,” Chalotra said while speaking to Games Radar as Batey dished on his “insane” training as Geralt. However, it was Freya Allan’s response that intrigued fans the most.
“I’m glad you guys all did that….” Allan said to her cast members, indicating that for whatever reason, she has not had the chance to speak to him.
Fans react to The Witcher cast welcoming Liam Hemsworth on board
While being on good terms with your co-actors is a favored trait in the Hollywood industry, The Witcher finds itself on a different boat. It is not that fans have anything against Liam Hemsworth, but more so the fact that he is replacing Henry Cavill. This is not the first time a leading actor is getting recast. But very rarely do we see such a unanimous disappointment between fans over an exit.
The disdain regarding Cavill’s exit is directly correlated with the fact that his immense knowledge regarding the source material rivaled even the creator by a huge margin. It was his dedication to Andrzej Sapkowski’s word that is believed to have driven the actor to his exit. Therefore, the cast insisting that Liam Hemsworth has his nose buried in the books to embody Geralt has rubbed fans in the worst way possible.

Amidst all this, Freya Allan, who naturally spent a lot of time with Cavill owing to their father-daughter bond, has found herself on the good side of public sentiment.
