With Henry Cavill turning over his Geralt of Rivia part over to Liam Hemsworth, The Witcher is undoubtedly in a time of transition. After all the emotional upheaval the characters faced in Season 3, the new season is bound to see some changes in certain characters’ arcs. Among them is Princess Ciri, who will take center stage in Season 4 of the Netflix show. And as she does so, some hidden powers of the Cintra-born princess may just come to light.

In the second volume of season 3, Ciri wandered alone in the desert of Korath after narrowly escaping Vilgefortz. During her journey through the desert, some visions led her to unlock a hidden side of her.

This magical ability of Ciri might make up for Henry Cavill’s exit

When Ciri started having visions of strange things, including her departed mother in season 3, her transition to Falka began. According to Screen Rant, in the books and games, this event foreshadows Ciri realizing her powers of jumping through portals. So, the series might follow the same path, bringing her character center stage and dampening the blow of Cavill’s departure.

While many believe Ciri will now embrace her dark side in season 4, some are looking forward to her unveiling her ability to travel through portals. In the books, the fact that Ciri possesses an Elder Blood gene leads to her gaining limitless power over this very ability. Whether it takes shape in Season 4, only time can tell.

Another thing that occurred in Season 3 was hinting at this theory as well. Because something the princess encountered in the desert is also believed to be connected to her powers.

How did The Witcher set up the premise for Ciri’s new powers?

Although the unicorn that Ciri encountered in the desert was minimally portrayed in season 3, it remains significantly important in Ciri’s journey. Following her initial accidental world jump in the books, it was that very unicorn named Ihuarraquax who aided her in honing this ability. With its introduction in volume 2, it is inevitable that Ciri’s world-jumping adventures will soon unfold.
