Arnold Schwarzenegger and Friend-Rival, Sylvester Stallone Bring In Edge-of-the-Seat Action and Thrill as Entire ‘Expendables’ Franchise Now Streams on Netflix
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are two of the most iconic pairs in Hollywood. Competing strongly with ravishing tank-like builds and a penchant for delivering thrilling action flicks, the pair is known to be a ‘frenemy.’ Having spent most of their early careers standing against each other, they later reconciled their differences. Now, one of their most famed collaborative creative endeavors is on Netflix. However, Sylvester and Stallone are not coming alone. An entire set of Hollywood’s finest action stars are here too!
Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Harrison Ford and more join Schwarzenegger and Stallone too. The line-up comes in as Netflix announced the release of all three of The Expendables franchise to stream. The series which started in 2010 pays homage to the action films from the 80s and 90s showcasing stars of the genre.

The Expendables movies revolve around a group of skilled mercenaries who undertake diverse missions across the globe, frequently involving corrupt dictators, renegade agents, and merciless villains. The films are famous for their action scenes, clever exchanges of dialogue, and nostalgic nods to the past.
The franchise’s initial three movies hit theaters in 2010, 2012, and 2014 respectively. The action-packed flicks amassed a staggering $800 million in global box office revenue. These films featured Sylvester Stallone as the protagonist Barney Ross with Arnold Schwarzenegger portraying Trench Master, a mercenary who was once close friends, with Ross.
Regardless of the two action legends’ long-standing feud, their collaboration brought fruit to one of the best action franchises ever. Furthermore, the franchise is gearing up for action after nearly a decade, although with one big miss.

The franchise with three movies is gearing up for the fourth installment called Expend4bles, which is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 22, 2023. This will mark Sylvester Stallone’s next appearance as Barney Ross, the team’s leader. Excitingly, the movie will also introduce actors like Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Tony Jaa, and Iko Uwais. Unfortunately, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a part of the returning installment.
Looking ahead to the future of the franchise beyond 2023, there have been discussions among creators and fans about possibilities. One idea that has been circulating since 2012 is a TV series based on The Expendables. However, it’s important to note that there has not been any confirmation or development of this concept yet. Nonetheless, the franchise’s action stars and its acclaim for providing thrilling entertainment will always remain unique.
