While seeing this surname on the cast list, many people might have wondered if she is related to our Wednesday star, Jenna Ortega. Well, just because they both have the same last name does not mean they have some family connections. The 20-year-old star is of Mexican-Puerto Rican descent and the fourth child in a family of six children. On the other hand, Asia Ortega is a descendant of an Argentinian father and a Spanish mother.

Last year, the You star sat down with Deadline for a cover interview after her critically acclaimed performance in the film The Fallout. During the conversation, she was also asked about her heritage and what that has meant for her career. The American actress stated in her response that she has always loved her culture.

“It’s something that I’m very proud of. I grew up in a community [Coachella Valley, California] surrounded by all kinds of Hispanics,” explained Ortega. She continued that representing one’s heritage and culture in their work is a thing of self-esteem or self-respect. Just like she renowned the teen Wednesday Addams, who is a Latina character.
