The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is Netflix’s newest NSFW anime. Yes, you heard that right. Netflix is putting out an original NSFW anime based on the eccentric videogame Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2007 which was a whole new level of gore mixed with vibrant colors of the city. The animated series too focuses on this aspect and judging by the trailer will set bars really high for upcoming adaptations. Furthermore, the trailer is so artistically brilliant.

The violent, exciting, and fast-paced movement of the characters while Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9 plays in the background will make you sit back down even if you are not a fan of animes. The animated series goes all out loud music, fast pace, nudity, death, and almost anything that requires maturity guidelines. Rings a bell? A true Netflix Junkie will first think of Love, Death & Robots after they hear animation and gore. There are suprising similarities between the two shows, and here we have drawn a few similarities between Tim Miller’s  Love, Death & Robots and Rafal Jaki’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Bright visuals, nudity, and blood—all wrapped up in a meaningful plot

Both animated series have a fast pace with bright colors. Almost each one of the Love, Death & Robots episodes had a maturity rating, while Cyberpunk Endgerunner has been marked NSFW in the trailer itself. Underneath the fast pace, gore visuals, lie a deeper meaning. The screenplay of the Japanese animation is written by Gridamna Universe series, Promare writer, Yoshiki Usa, and the brilliant mind behind Star Wars: Vision of ‘The Elder,’ Masahiko Otsuka. Apart from Lucy and David, the ripper doc has caught fans’ attention. He works as a surgeon in the daylight but as soon as the sun goes down he distributes black market goods.
