Arcane delves into the delicate balance between the cities of Piltover and Zaun. It is based on the universe of League of Legends. Piltover is an opulent and utopian metropolis, whereas Zaun can only be described as a squalid, downtrodden underworld. These cities are known as the “cities of development” and are home to some of Runeterra’s most genius minds.
However, the development of “hextech”, a method for anybody to manipulate magical energy, puts their equilibrium in jeopardy. The plot covers the beginnings of two legendary League champions, as well as the force that would rip them apart.

Netflix announced in September 2021 that the voice cast of the series will star Hailee Steinfeld as Vi, Ella Purnell as Jinx, Kevin Alejandro as Jayce, Katie Leung as Caitlyn, Jason Spisak as Silco, Toks Olagundoye as Mel, JB Blanc as Vander, and Harry Lloyd as Victor. Arcane is geared for a “14+” audience, similar to the game on which it is based, and will deal with some more mature subject matter.
