Although their decision to move away from the royal palace was met by enthralled supporters, it seems there has been a change in sentiments. Following the Megxit, the interview that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave to Oprah Winfrey not only managed to bring in viewers but also supporters in the masses.

However, the recent two releases, i.e., the Netflix docuseries and the memoir, have not had the same effect and even ruffled the feathers of the audience who earlier claimed to be on their side. The reason being the couple’s pursuit to find privacy as they continue to sell their private experiences with various publishing and production houses. While for fans of the couple it is a light-hearted conundrum, for the supporters of the Royal family it is an insult they are not willing to bear.

Britain demands its own apology from the Sussexes

Prince Harry’s memoir and the resulting interviews have led to one ask: An apology from the Windsors. While an apology from the British family seemed like a feat too high to achieve, it is shocking to see the majority of Britain refute it. Instead of offering an apology to its once-loved Prince, Britain has demanded one of its own.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “should apologize to the world, the British people, and perhaps some of their own family members,” a television presenter argued, as reported by Express. Her opinion seemed to move well in sync with others in the country if the poll indicating Sussex’s popularity stooping below Queen Consort Camilla’s is anything to go by.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s demand for apology rejected

In his explosive memoir, Prince Harry recalled his childhood days, among other things. While at some points he praised his father, the Duke of Sussex at no point frees him of the accusation of being inattentive towards him. At a point in the memoir, he even goes on to claim that King Charles was afraid of the mass attention received by him and Meghan Markle. The now-monarch’s supposed fear had something to do with them “dominating the monarchy.”

Following the release of his memoir, Prince Harry even gave several interviews where he demanded an apology from the Royal family.

However, it had more to do with a shameful statement made by Jeremy Clarkson and the Royal family’s unwillingness to get their hands soiled in anything regarding the two. While the British stiff upper lip had always been a subject of marvel, just how strong it was became evident after the Royal family’s maddening silence amidst Prince Harry’s loud claims.
