The anime fanbase now stands amongst the largest in the world. Despite predominantly catering to the Asian audience, the vast majority of Anime fans are found in the United States. And otakus in the United States are more appreciative, defensive, and most importantly passionate about their favorite animes. This is why one of the biggest anime events is held in the United States in Boston.
Much like how cinema is regaining its grandeur after the shutdown due to the pandemic, anime conventions are also back in full swing. For the much-starved anime fans, the Anime Boston Event 2023 is no less than an oasis in a desert. The excitement has doubled owing to the event’s absence in the past years and also the exciting guest list and events.
Anime fans welcome Anime Boston Event 2023 with open arms
What started in 2003 as a non-profit organization by New England in order to get more people to appreciate the art of anime has now turned into a massive event, pulling anime fans from all around Europe. This year, the Anime Boston Event 2023 will be held on Friday, April 7th through Sunday, April 9th at the Hynes Convention Center and Sheraton Boston Hotel. Furthermore, the convention is not just any ordinary fan meetup, but it dwells deeper not just into the anime culture but also the history and culture of Japan.

The stakes for this year’s convention are much higher. The anime fanbase has quadrupled since the pandemic owing to Netflix getting a taste of anime success. More and more western production houses have been investing and offering a platform to make larger-than-life anime products. While that is a future anime fans cannot wait for, the convention will be celebrating prevailing iconic anime.
Star-studded guest list
The convention has left no stone unturned this year and has arranged exciting events ranging from anime film screenings and fan sign events to inviting actors such as Dante Basco, Erika Harlacher, Emi Lo, and many more.

The star of the show, however, has always remained the Center stage charity ball. Anime fans view it as their personalized prom dance and dress up to the nines for this formal dance. This year the dance will be taking place on the 7th of April.
