However, it shines brightly when it comes to true crime documentaries. With camera panning, focus on the narration of real-life crime stories, Netflix’s kitty is full of these gripping true tales.

Angi: Fake Life, True Crime is another such docuseries which is ready to take the viewers on a wild ride of the world of crime.

Who will be seen in the docuseries?

Netflix’s original documentary Angi: Fake Life, True Crime is about the crimes committed by María Ángeles Molina, known as Angi, in the vicinity of her domestic life. Naturally, it will be focusing on the atrocities committed by her and their effect. Her crimes ended up getting much media coverage and became a piece of national news. 

Directed by Carlos Agulló, who is credited for Rosa Peral's Tapes, much labour has gone into its making as Netflix reviewed more than 2,000 pages of case files, crime reports, and family files.

About making the series, Carlos Agulló said, “It has been a challenge, a real game of mirrors,” and expressed hope that the viewer can experience the same challenge.

What is the story line of Angi: Fake Life True Crime?

In its two episodes, the docuseries will cover the case of young Ana Páez in 2008. Labelled in the media as “The Near-Perfect Crime”, the culprit was found guilty and sentenced.

The series also sheds light on Angi's past, her marriage to Juan Antonio Álvarez Litben, and the businessman's death in 1996. For the first time, the viewers will see the police and judicial proceedings into the death of Álvarez Litben and the testimony of family members and people close to both cases. For the series, the makers have faced a multifaceted investigation, as many as Angi's multiple identities.

When is the docuseries getting released?

With April departing in a few days, Netflix is more than ready to unleash a whole big bundle of old and new shows and movies. And its inaugural will be done with Angi: Fake Life, True Crime, on May 1.
