Amidst the lockdown, Netflix dropped Army of the Dead, a zombie thriller doubling as a heist movie on the platform. The movie was a success for both Netflix and director Zack Snyder. The streaming giant also released a prequel Army of The Thieves. But yet the sequel, tentatively titled Planet of The Dead, was still far away. Fans of the zombie action thriller have been waiting for the sequel and just when they thought their hopes were dashed, Snyder gave an update on the sequel. He has every intention of continuing the story and not abandoning it.
The director of Man of Steel recently guested on the Nerd Queens where he let the information slip that the sequel to Army of The Dead is going to happen. But unfortunately, he does not have a date for it, since he is too busy developing Rebel Moon. Snyder already has it mapped out in his head where he wants to take the story next. However, the sci-fi series is currently his priority.

“As far as the Army Universe goes though, it’s still alive and well in my mind. I know exactly what I would do. It’s not a small-time commitment, Rebel Moon stuff,” he shared. Interestingly, Snyder is developing both projects for Netflix. Rebel Moon is an ambitious project and is split into two parts. The ex-DC director is developing the project in hopes of kick-starting a franchise.
Creating an interconnected world that can serve several more sequels from the same universe is not an easy feat. However, now that the 57-year-old has given us an update on the sequel, we can certainly speculate about the sequel’s narrative.
