After breaking the live-adaptation curse, Netflix’s One Piece has stolen the hearts of every anime fan out there. Although multiple series have been released since the series made its way to the streaming platform, none have been able to end its Top 10 reign. From murder mysteries to teenage dramas, the streaming giant has put out new shows and new seasons. But nothing could match Eiichiro Oda’s prowess.

While the first season came out in August, fans have still not gotten over the intriguing adventures of the Straw Hat Crew. Even after the release shows like Sex Education‘s finale, the hype for the series had not died down even a little.

Netflix’s One Piece anchors down on the Top 10

Back in August, Netflix shocked the anime world when they put out their live adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece. While everyone, including the creator, had no hope of the series, they were all speechless once the series dropped. The series’ popularity surprised everyone, but it also ended up on the streamer’s Global Top 10. Now, two months after the release, it has still managed to stay on the list, standing at number 8 with 1.4 million views in week 8.

While other shows like the Virgin River came and left the list, One Piece has stayed strong. Although it might not be No. 1 on the list, the series has remained on it. In fact, the series received so much attention that it was renewed for a second season just two weeks after it aired. While fans are eager to know more about the upcoming season, the series cinematographer, Nicole Hirsch Whitaker has given them a few hints about what to expect.

With the much anticipated season 2 a while away, no one can keep calm about what season 2 will entail for the series and its beloved cast.

One Piece Season 2: What to expect

While season 1 stayed true to Oda’s storyline and characters, the next season could bring a lot of familiar faces into the fray. Earlier this month, it was revealed that the next season was already being written. However, the hype for the series has not dropped the wait until the upcoming season could throw fans. Apart from revealing the character shown at the end of One Piece, fans can also expect to see some of their favorite characters from the manga and anime.

While there is no doubt that Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew will reign supreme, there will be the addition of new villains to add to the storyline. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, fans are in for quite a wait before they go on another adventure with their favorite pirate crew.
