Amidst SAG’s Strike, Netflix Makes Major Promised With Jamie Foxx’s Much Awaited ‘They Cloned Tyrone’s’ Teaser

The fans breathed a relief of joy when Jamie Foxx made a public appearance after his long medical hiatus. From Mike Tyson to Kanye West, everybody awaited his speedy recovery. The Back in Action actor came to life as he cruised on the boat and waved at his fans with his first public appearance. And now, Netflix has released a trailer for his upcoming movie amidst the ongoing writer’s and actor’s strike. 

Foxx has starred in They Cloned Tyrone, which is scheduled to be released a week after it aired in theatres on July 14. And the streaming giant just dropped its teaser. Foxx is both an actor and a producer of the film.

Jamie Foxx’s They Cloned Tyrone is all set to hit your screens on July 21. This sci-fi comedy, which had a limited theatrical release on July 14, is scheduled to air on Netflix. The sinister events that lead to a government cloning conspiracy will send chills down your spine with a mix of satire and dark comedy. Foxx, who both produced and stars in this movie, will appear alongside John Boyega and Kiefer Sutherland.

The 55-year-old American actor joined the cast in September 2020 and filmed from November 2020 to its end in April 2021. The Ray actor who made his first appearance in public 3 months after hospitalization will definitely give his awaiting fans the satisfaction of his Oscar-worthy acting in They Cloned Tyrone. And this teaser was a blessing amidst the ongoing strike. 

The official trailer was released earlier on June 13. Twenty-four early critics on Rotten Tomatoes have given They Cloned Tyrone a score of 96%. The critics said the amazing cast made watching the comedic group investigate a mystery amateurishly, and that made it even more amazing. Others commended how the film carried a deeper meaning and rhetoric on the prejudices that people still hold against black people.

The ongoing strike saw the Oppenheimer cast leave the premier after the red-carpet event and stand in solidarity with others. Even Barbie’s Margot Robbie joined the strike as she halted her promotions according to a report by Elle. The actors cannot appear in films or promote their films that have already been made as a part of strike rules. This has halted the Deadpool 3 and the Beetlejuice sequel too.

While Matt Damon hoped it would end soon, Succession’s Brian Cox speculated that the strike would go on till the end of this year. BBC’s interview with Phil Clapp reported that the cinema-goers wouldn’t face any repercussions as a part of the strike. Several films had already been locked for release until almost the next year, and hence they would face scarcity.
