A tweet has disclosed that a new location that is currently under construction at the Screen Gems studios parking lot: Downton Hawkins. In the last season of Stranger Things, it is anticipated that Downton Hawkins will serve as a significant setting. This season will bring closure to the story of the Hawkins gang and their relentless fight against the Upside Down.

However, it is important to note that the recent set development indicates the resumption of filming. Yet, on the other hand, the SAG-AFTRA strikes are still in full force. As such, it would not be possible for Netflix to go ahead with any filming-related activity even if the set is fully prepared and ready for stage shows. It could also be a sign of the strikes getting close to a resolution.

Notably, another Netflix series, The Chosen, was green-lit recently to continue filming even at the peak of the strikes. The reason was that the show was fully crowd-funded and as such did not violate any guidelines. Yet, Stranger Things is not a crowd-funded show. So what trump card has Netflix played this time to get things moving? Only time will tell.
