Amidst Met Gala Saga of the Kardashians and Jenners, Take a Look at Kim Kardashian’s First Gala Appearance as Kanye West’s plus One in 2013
There have been a few consistent head-turners at the Met Gala, and Kim Kardashian is one of them. It is now common for fans to expect the Kardashian sisters to show off their unique styles at the event, but things were not always the same. In fact, it was after several attempts that the SKIMS owner finally got the opportunity back in 2013.
Back in 2019, the socialite revealed her first experience of attending the event. It showed how their Met Gala success was a result of everyone altering their way of thinking, including Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were expecting their first baby when the socialite finally got to tag along with the singer for the most fashionable event of the year. But that was going to be a challenge. She took to Twitter in 2019, explaining how she wore Riccardo Tisci for the event while being super nervous about her attendance. “I did my own lipstick & the color is so off,” Kardashian wrote. She ended up in tears after getting home, out of the sheer pressure of having to look perfect.
As per E-News, Stephanie Wolkoff once planned the Vogue event. She said that the Kardashians had nothing to do with fashion. Their attempt to get invited was rejected several times until Wintour realized it was time to mend the rules. They have stayed part of the trends for years and could not be avoided after a point.
As per reports, the sisters have not received an invitation to the Met Gala 2023. But here is a look at their iconic looks at the gala so far.

How the Kardashian ruled the Met Gala
Being the talk of the town, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West made it to the magazine’s cover in 2014. Thereafter, the 2021 all-black Balenciaga outfit was certainly a head-turner, even reminding one of Ye’s style. Roberto Cavalli’s steamy dress in 2015, Thierry Mugler’s wet look in 2019, and Versace in 2018 were some of her iconic looks. But it was the Marilyn Monroe dress that grabbed the most attention in 2022 for both good and bad reasons.
Jumping ahead to 2023, the Kardashian is no longer with Ye but is happy being a mother to their children. Wintour’s crackdown on the Vogue list means we will not get to see the Kardashian iconic looks.
