The Witcher franchise is expanding its roots in the animation world once again. Netflix is developing the long-awaited movie Sirens of the Deep which was announced two years back. Since then the streamer has maintained true silence regarding this project and shared zero official updates. However, Redanian Intelligence recently revealed that the movie is helmed by the Korean Studio Mir. It is the same studio that created the Nightmare of the Wolf anime.

Released in 2021, this anime feature received widespread praise for its grimdark frame, strong script, and equally strong performances. Now Sirens of the Deep is set to follow the steps considering the team they have acquired for it. Composer of the Shadow and Bone Joseph Trapanese will do the score. Moreover, Lauren Hissrich who is the showrunner of the primary show will be executive producing the film.

This new endeavor might turn out the perfect distraction for the audience who has been hooked by the exit of Henry Cavill. Through this film, they can get the chance to explore the deeper ends of this world. As this movie will be adapting the short stories collection of Andrzej Sapkowski.

Details of the plot of Sirens of the Deep

Though the plot of The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep has not been confirmed, it is possible they pick Sapkowski’s A Little Sacrifice. Considering that the Netflix series left out this short story and it takes quite a different arc from the rest of the stories. It revolves around a mermaid named Sh’eenaz and a human prince named Agloval who fall in love. While the story depicts our beloved Witcher as a translator hired by Agloval because he understands the Elder language.

The voice cast of the movie has been confirmed. Christina Wren plays the role of the bard Essi Daven. Meanwhile, the long-awaited season of the fantasy drama is set to enchant viewers this month and after. Season 3 Volume 1 will be released on June 29, and Volume 2 debuts on July 27.
