Meghan Markle has been landing in one or another controversy since her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018. The Duke and Duchess’ Netflix docuseries received mixed responses from viewers as they were greeted with both applause and criticism. However, there was one particular scene in the show featuring Markle that caused outrage on social media. In the second episode, Meghan Markle was filmed making fun of the curtsy protocol.

The former American actress was left amused when Prince Harry told her about curtsying to the late Queen Elizabeth II. Describing the scenes before her first meeting with the prince’s grandmother, Markle revealed that initially, she thought she would have to dramatically bow down. She also enacted the crazy curtsy by spreading her hands and bowing down. A lot of people felt that with the scene, Markle had taken an indirect jibe at the late queen and royal protocols. The former actress now finds herself under more scrutiny as a video from her television drama Suits has gone viral. 

Did Meghan Markle lie during the Oprah Winfrey Interview?

Recently, a video from the sixth episode of the second season of the US-legal drama Suits has been gaining a lot of limelight. In the short clip, Meghan Markle’s on-screen character Rachel Zane can be seen curtsying to another character. The episode aired on television in 2012, which means that it was filmed way before Prince Harry’s entry into Markle’s life. Sharing the clip, the Instagram user wrote that the video is proof that the Duchess knew how to curtsy and she did the weird curtsy action in the docuseries only to mock the late monarch and the royal family.

The social media user also accused the former American actress of lying. During the explosive Oprah Winfrey interview last year, Meghan Markle claimed that she did not know how to curtsy. The Duchess had also admitted messing up her first meeting with the late Queen by doing a deep curtsy. However, the viral video says otherwise about Markle’s knowledge of the crusty action.
