In the past few weeks, the sensation that has defined the streaming industry is quite rightfully, One Piece. The manga-anime turned live-action enthralled the audience with its on-point cast and visually striking storyline. Moreover, the hype around the Netflix series renewed the popularity and cultural relevance of the Eiichiro Oda original manga. The impact and influence were such that the original copy sales reached a record high.

The time is all but in favor of One Piece. After sailing past Netflix records with a record-smashing debut, the impact of the live-action adaptation is coming to the fore. The Eiichiro Oda creation is going up to places where only the hallmarks of pop and entertainment culture earn their way. This Thanksgiving Day, the King of the Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy will take to the skies at the 97th Macy’s Parade.
Announced by the anime studio, Toei Animation, Luffy’s inclusion will all but shine the spotlight on his crew across all formats. As the Will of D bearer takes over Manhattan skies, the talks will all revolve around the massive cultural significance it has brought over in recent times. Since its debut on 31st August, the show has won critical laurels as well as held streaming prowess for a long time.
On the ground, meanwhile, the talks are focusing on the more grounded side of things such as season two and the ones following it.

In a special video, Eiichiro Oda himself announced that Netflix had renewed One Piece for season two. Following this, aside from the excitement and reveling, talks of the show’s upcoming arc have been discussed. In all likelihood, it looks like the Netflix hit will follow the Arabasta saga. Moreover, anticipated characters such as Vivi and Tony Tony Chopper are set to make their debut.
As the show expands its grasp, it also shall look into expanding its cast. Thankfully, big names such as Jamie Lee Curtis have already announced their intentions to lead certain roles. Meanwhile, while earlier reports suggested that it was plausible for the show to continue for up to six seasons, new ones have pointed out the showrunners being confident of pulling over 12 such masterclasses.
