Amid Success of $175,000,000 Worth ‘The Killer’, Netflix to Continue Its Tryst With David Fincher

The latest of Fincher’s directorial masterpieces to land on Netflix is the psychological drama, The Killer, which debuted to massively positive reviews and an 87% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Owing to its success, the streaming giant is looking at having the director onboard for more projects. Speaking to Collider, Netflix’s film chief, Scott Stuber stressed that “He’s a Netflix treasure in a lot of ways.” Additionally, he also revealed that they “have a lot in development with him.”
The Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton’s thriller along with Fincher’s only other 2020 movie project with Netflix, Mank has paved the road for such a collaboration. Interestingly, The Social Network director has also laid his input on shows such as House of Cards, Mindhunter, and Love, Death + Robots. Stuber also hinted at the prospect of the director landing any project in either of the two “mediums” would have Netflix “excited”.
Coincidentally, these comments come right at a time when the company has formed another strong alliance with another leading director.

Swooping in to get Zack Snyder fresh off a DC snub, Netflix may have played its cards right. The Man of Steel director’s upcoming two-part space opera is set to be a visual extravaganza as the latest trailers have pointed out. Additionally, coming in as a mature take on Star Wars, complete with its original, grim, and no-holds-barred vision, Snyder is going toe-to-toe against the mammoth Disney franchise.
At the same time, an announcement from the director merged with his previous Army of the Dead outing with his latest offering, marking an expandable universe on the rise. The upcoming rebel franchise will also see a limited box-office screening in the US before a full-fledged streaming release. Regardless, are looking at one of the best creative outputs to come from Snyder in a long time.
