When Netflix recently announced the second season of Arcane, fans eagerly revisited their unresolved theories with renewed excitement. However, to keep its anime subscribers engaged, Netflix has even bigger plans. During its first-ever Next on Netflix: Animation presentation on June 6 at its LA headquarters, Netflix unveiled an ambitious slate of future series and features. The presentation included at least 18 series and 12 features.

The 30 projects ranged from preschool and family shows to adult animation, all set for release over the next year and a half. This marked Netflix's first upfront presentation dedicated exclusively to animation. The streamer has a compelling reason for this focus as it highlights the well-thought strategy given over 130 million Netflix households watch animation every month. Moreover, in 2023 alone, anime generated one billion views for the platform.
