Alessandro Borghi shot to international fame with his lead role in the Netflix crime series Suburra - La Serie (aka Suburra: Blood on Rome). The show, which dropped in 2017, was adapted from the 2015 neo-noir crime film Suburra. That same year, Borghi also starred in the drama Non essere cattivo (aka Don't Be Bad), which was even submitted at the 88th Academy Awards. And yes, it is available on Netflix too.
In 2018, Borghi took on yet another Netflix original, Sulla mia pelle (aka On My Skin). His powerful portrayal of Stefano Cucchi in the film earned him the prestigious David di Donatello Award for Best Actor. Most recently, earlier this year, Borghi starred in Super-ex, an Italian biographical drama miniseries loosely based on the life of Rocco Siffredi. As the title suggests, it was an R-rated project- most of Borghi's projects are- and Netflix might just be bringing more R-rated content, even with their usual TV-14-rated shows like Stranger Things.
A recent update from the show’s fifth season suggested that fans might be in for a bloodier journey into the Upside Down than ever before.
Stranger Things taking an R-rated-esque route
Netflix recently made a big change to Stranger Things' rating on the platform. It switched the show from TV-14 to TV-MA, which is pretty much like giving it an R-rating. This change is big a clue about where the show might be headed in Season 5. Over the years, Netflix has been a bit back-and-forth about the series' rating between TV-14 and TV-MA. Therefore, this new update was not really a shocker.

In fact, this was not even the first time in 2024 that Stranger Things has had a similar rating swap. According to What’s On Netflix, the show had pulled the same move back in February. Even Season 4 had some back-and-forth– the first half of the season was released with a TV-14 rating, while the second half was bumped up to TV-MA. With this new update, though, it is looking like fans might be in for a much darker, R-rated ride in the final batch of episodes.
