AI Artist Re-Imagines ‘The Witcher’ Female Characters With “Uncanny” Portraits More Realistic Than the Show
In Netflix’s The Witcher, the female characters of Yennefer and Ciri are just as essential to its plot as its main character: Geralt of Rivia. However, even among them, one does not match her novel description. This is because the show’s creator: Lauren Hissrich, did not want the series to follow the usual format of a singular race dominating the cast. So, to diversify the characters, she altered the characters according to her choosing.
Well, this bothered some loyalists who wanted them to be true to the books by Andrzej Sapkowski that the series is adapted from. So, this work by an artist that surfaced on Reddit earlier this week will provide those fans some relief. The images showcased all of Ciri, Yennefer, Triss, Shani, Cerys, Keira, and more in their original form. The accuracy with which the artist had recreated the women was striking.

Like bees to honey, The Witcher fans could not help but get pulled into a battle over which among the recreated characters looked the best. So, they took to the comments section of the post to do so.

One portrait that arose the most intrigue was that of Keira who looked significantly different to her The Witcher depiction. Last month, the show’s former lead: Henry Cavill also appeared in a similar Reddit battle. This time, it seemed like Cerys whose portrait was deemed “uncanny” won a landslide victory. According to one user, Orianna came across “exactly how she would” if portrayed like her AI image.
Another user felt that Priscilla’s was the best. The majority of users felt that the artist’s renditions were “exceptionally accurate“. Some wanted Netflix to “take notes” from the recreations. Well, the collectioncertainly left left many wondering how the show would have looked if these characters had really looked like this. While fans await the next season of The Witcher, their imagination is bound to keep running wild.
