Ahead of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2, Netflix Is Already Ruled by Korean Hits Globally
It does not seem very long ago when Squid Game in all its blue, red, and yellow glory graced Netflix and the entire world developed an obsession with a large-headed doll and a rhyme they still do not know the meaning of. That has done less to ease up their excitement for the next installment of the show. However, it seems that they will be more prepared this time.
Having had a taste of that Korean kimchi with the survival thriller extravaganza, the global audience is rightfully ready to name almost all Korean entries as their streaming addiction.

Being the streaming giant that it is, Netflix goes the extra length to accommodate viewers all around the globe by bringing in new engaging content. Not long ago, the streaming giant made it a habit to expand its menu from the classic Hollywood series to a multi-national cuisine. As per the latest census, Netflix has three of its shows: Culinary Class Wars, Gyeongseong Creature 2, and Officer Black Belt globally in the Top 10.
All three shows, despite the obvious language barrier, have managed to surpass boundaries which were earlier believed to be a feat only K-Pop music could achieve. The shows that have managed to tickle the fancy of the global audience are all equipped with a thrilling plot and masterclass performances from popular Korean actors.
While audiences have gotten better versed with Korean content as they decorate their plates with new Korean shows, they still remain on the tip of their toes for Squid Game 2.

Squid Game Season 1 was truly a trailblazer in the way it became a global phenomenon. However, if Season 2 of the show does not manage to meet the standard set by its predecessor, it will not be the first of its kind, especially since fan expectations are at an all-time high. It seems they have filled the three-year gap with intensified expectations regarding Squid Game Season 2.
Despite being well aware of the intensity of the spotlight that is currently shining on them, the Squid Game makers have not shied away as apparent by the first-look release. If anything, they have only participated in further increasing the anticipation. Whether Squid Game Season 2 will meet the expectations remains unknown, but that the global audience will be tuning in for Korean shows regardless has become known.
