Owens and Maeda did complete justice to Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece, breaking all the debut records on Netflix. The show even outshone Millie Bobby Brown starrer Stranger Things and Wednesday in terms of viewership. With such a favorable response, it was not a shocker when fans got word of a second installation. However, the fact that the second season is already under production took everyone by surprise. Until cinematographer Hirsch Whitaker revealed it to The Direct.
Whitaker, who was the DOP in the first two episodes of One Piece, revealed that the writing process of the second season was in continuation before the strikes. However, the writer’s protests put the brakes on the development process. Nevertheless, as the strike is ending, one can expect the production process to kick off with a powerful surge.
