Stranger Things took its viewers on the wildest Upside Down ride for four seasons. And while the fandom might have its favorites, the most powerful villain to date was undoubtedly Vecna. The fourth season had the bone-chilling showdown, with an even more intense soundtrack compared to the last three seasons. The dark backdrop of Vecna and the Metallica song scene made up for thrilling on-screen action. In addition, season 5 has taken off with its production process, and the anticipation and hints could not get more enjoyable.

While the on-screen franchise heads to its expansion, the Netflix series has got its very own anthology. In its latest issue, Hawkins Town’s fans get a taste of a bigger, more intense monster.

The makers of the 80s-based drama subjected fans to long, patient waits for new seasons, so they devised a smart fix. Jody Houser, an acclaimed comic writer, meticulously weaved alternative stories for the show’s anthology-based comics. Away from the cast and plot, ‘Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins’ is an issue-based comic series depicting new stories using the Netflix show’s classic characters. Recently, Dark Horse publications readied its Issue #3, which is set to feature a newer, scarier monster – the raging monster of Love.

Featuring the character of Robin Buckley, the issue will showcase her journey from forming a crush to mustering up the courage to confess it. The nature of it being a colossal and overwhelming emotion, with both sides to its coin, is what is set to make it different. IGN released an exclusive sneak peek at the issue, which is scheduled to release on August 23.

The wait for Season 5 is long owing to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but the wheels are headed in the right direction. The recent Noah Schnapp interview with Variety pointed to Matt Duffer’s active involvement in the series and the characters’ developments. Furthermore, the makers even announced new cast members. But the fandom will get to see another director working on at least one episode.

As the wait for a new on-screen monster intensifies, Black Mirror’s Dan Trachtenberg will lend a hand in direction. Duffer Brothers’ comments also confirmed the evolution of Schnapps’s characters. The director also jokingly added, “Don’t be Tom Holland”, owing to Holland’s notorious streak of leaking information, after sending Schnapp the three scripts of Season 5.
