Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is righting what fans regard as her biggest wrongdoing when it comes to The Witcher series. The showrunner revealed that this time, more than ever, they will stick closely to the book’s narration. And this was further solidified when Netflix released the title and synopsis of Volume 1. Apart from Season 3’s affinity to the books, the announcement of the time duration of the episodes has also been made in favor of fans.

Netflix’s popular series is to release its Season 3 Volume 1, which will be approximately 274 minutes long. This is a trope frequent in the projects that stay in the trending category all season long. However, fans of the fantasy series were skeptical after the streamer decided to divide the season into Volume 1 and 2.

But by making each volume as long as a season, the OTT Mogul has pleased The Witcher fans. Especially as they dread watching the final moments of Henry Cavill in the series. With each episode almost an hour long, there will be more than enough time to do justice to Andrzej Sapkowski’s work.

Now more so than ever, as the series plans to explore one of its most dreaded antagonists: The Rats.

Hissrich’s decision to incorporate the Rats into the Season 3 storyline despite how it unfolds came as a shock to many. And for the first time, fans were scared of the creators saying that they plan to follow the books. While it’s a recipe for disaster, fans still find it intriguing how the series will unravel Ciri’s relationship with them.

It is unclear whether they appear in Vol.1 or Vol.2. Given the announcement of the episode titles and synopsis, it seems they have saved the best for last. Apart from appearing in Season 3 Vol. 2, the group of troublemakers are also getting their own spinoff.
