After Months of Delays an Exciting ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Update Has Come Into Play
In the world of streaming, playing the long game is having to stay relevant. Among the many players who run content, Netflix commands a lion’s share of the subscriber base thanks to its nurturing of in-house productions. The streaming giant has for long not only licensed movies and shows but invested heavily in creating redefining ones such as Stranger Things, The Crown, and One Piece. At a time when its latest production has seen chart-topping success, the Millie Bobby Brown-led show has been all but lagging.
The fantasy sci-fi has long enjoyed being a fan favorite. However, just as its climactic run was about to befall, the SAG-AFTRA strikes threw it off schedule until recently.

Finding its place among the list of the most anticipated outings to land, Stranger Things has a lot to account for. The show is preparing for its last season which will see the fate of many of its characters underlined. Along with Eleven’s final face-off against Vecna, the show will also look to pitch in redefining moments of leadership and character arcs for several others. Thus, with a lot on its tow, the show has finally set a date of two weeks from today for filming to resume.
In all likelihood, the show will be under lights and cameras before the end of November. The news is likely to bring relief to fans who were holding in an insurmountable wait. Additionally, the developments come close on the heels of Brown being more ready than ever to bid adieu to the show that has seen her evolve from pre-teens to adulthood. Regardless, keeping filming and reshoots in mind, the show may see its release either towards the end of 2024 or early 2025.
To aid fans through this dry spell is a slew of prequel and spin-off productions landing soon in different capacities.
Amid Shawn Levy’s teases of an epic final season, spin-offs for show galore
Keeping fans up in hype was Stranger Things producer, Shawn Levy teasing a “cinematic storytelling” for the final season. Moreover, he also added an upscale of sorts to be in the play to conclude the show on a high. Meanwhile, to carry fans through, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is among the first of many content landing this year. A stage play set 30 years before the events of the main show, it will explore the origins of Henry Creel aka Vecna.

The play will also explore the Hawkins setting before it went upside down. Additionally, it shall also narrate the tale of James Hopper’s parents. Preceding it is a prequel book on Eddie Munson titled Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus. The book which was released this Halloween follows Munson’s musical journey before being embroiled in his father’s schemes. Regardless, the wait for fans is soon to be over as, along with filming, the writers have also teased tons of behind-the-scenes- footage.
