After Months of Delay, Stranger Things Season 5 Finally Establishes a Filming Period
The Hollywood entertainment industry came to a halt when two of its most powerful unions, WAG and SAG-AFTRA, launched a huge strike. As a result, Netflix shelved significant productions such as Emily in Paris, Cobra Kai, and the fan-favorite Stranger Things. The wait for the science fiction thriller series, however, seems to be nearing its end.
As if to make up for the months of strikes, Stranger Things has unleashed upon its fans a series of updates. The most pivotal of which has just been announced.

After months of waiting, the Stranger Things fandom finally has a confirmation. A social media handle revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that the filming of the beloved Netflix show will be completed in the coming 6–8 months. This sparked huge excitement among the enthusiasts, who were eagerly waiting for the show to hit the screens. The show is definitely hoping for a quick pack-up and hopefully a quicker release for its last season.
This news surfaced not long after the WAG members put down their picket signs and picked up their pens to head back to work with a temporary contract in hand. The Duffer Brothers were among the frontrunners of the strike. Therefore, it is understandable that they are trying to make up for lost time through various exciting updates.
While fans of the Netflix science fiction original have been fortunate enough to receive a series of updates, there are several other fan-favorite shows that are yet to be revived after the strikes.

In the midst of this euphoria, there is rising concern about the delayed returns of other Netflix favorites such as The Witcher. The Witcher saw a drop in viewership during its third season compared to the second, which could have an impact on season four’s production along with the strikes. But despite the delay, given that Liam Hemsworth is just waiting to pop out with his Geralt sword, audiences can rest assured The Witcher Season 4 will come sooner than expected. The same cannot be said about The Sandman, however.
Much like Stranger Things, fans have waited for quite a long time for an update on Season 2 of the mystical masterpiece. However, just like the Duffer Brothers, the mastermind behind The Sandman, Neil Gaiman, was also at the forefront of the strike. Barring a few images from the sets a few months ago, things have been awful quiet on the show’s front. But given Netflix’s history of turning its trending series’ into a franchise, especially if they are based on an acclaimed published source, the wait is likely to be over soon.
