As she graced the Earth Shot Award Ceremony with the Future King, Prince William, she has become the new talk of the town. Catherine Middleton wears Princess Diana’s Emerald choker to the event

The saga of the emerald in royalty dates back to Princess Diana’s ruling days when the Queen of hearts had donned it twice, each time in her own astonishing style. However, after the 1993 and 1985 Australian Trip, the necklace was never seen until this day. The present Princess of Wales and the Queen in waiting for Britain’s throne wore a figure-hugging green gown. Complementing her subtle ensemble, sparkled Diana’s precious emerald choker, comfortably rested around her neck.  

Reports have it that the former Princess of Wales had once worn it as a headband during her Australian Trip. As the story goes, while dressing up for an event, the choker got stuck on the Princess’s head. Although it was not the right way to wear the shining jewelry, Lady Diana liked the way it looked on her head. During her famous unforgettable dance with Prince Charles, she was clearly seen wearing it just the way she wanted. 

The late monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, had gifted it to her after her wedding to Prince Charles. It further dates back to the times of Queen Mary. The ladies from Indiana had gifted it to her back in 1911. That is how the choker made its way into the British Royal Family for the first time. Catherine Middleton, being the future Queen of Britain, has been the rightful inheritor of ancestral luxury.
