After James Gunn, Netflix Shuts Door For Henry Cavill to Return in ‘The Witcher’, Backs Liam Hemsworth Amidst the Chaos
It stirred the witcherverse from its core when its lead actor, Henry Cavill, passed on the legacy of the white-haired monster hunter to Liam Hemsworth. Fans were apparently in protest to bring back The Tudors actor, even threatening to abandon the show. They also signed petitions, calling out showrunner Lauren Hissrich along with the entire crew as Andrzej Sapkowski’s dream to see Cavill as an eternal force shattered into pieces. Not that people hold any grudges against the Hunger Games actor, but the 39-year-old has presented the character with such delicacy, flawlessness, and vigor that the fan reaction was perhaps excusable.
News recently surfaced that Cavill lost his role as Superman following the shake-up at DCEU. And it ignited a little spark of hope in The Witcher fans. However, it seems like not much good for the fan-favorite actor came out of it.

Apparently, post the DCEU’s decision to not cast Cavill as their potential superman, Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s head of US and Canada scripted series, first officially revealed to Variety that season 4 of the fantasy series will go on without the British actor. “Henry is an extraordinary Geralt and I think Liam will continue and also be an extraordinary Geralt,” Friedlander said.
Talking to CNN on Friday, he further pressed on the fact that there are no changes in the casting of season 4 of The Witcher.

As per the reports, the head carried in his confidence about The Witcher’s popularity and a belief that the love for the show won’t change no matter what. He believes that “there has been a legacy of amazing, iconic characters where the actors have changed and we’re hugely optimistic about this. We will continue to honor the IP, the fans, the storytelling, all the way through.”
